Issue 2 - Spending What We Can't Afford

An issue that we have in the United States is the government spending the money that we definitely don't have. Spending money that we don't have is an example of Budget Deficit.

When we have a budget deficit we then need to borrow money which means we've gotten ourselves into debt it causes a lot of stress to everyone. Our current national debt is thought to be around 12,413,568,446,179.90 and increases about 3.88 billion dollars per day. Problems with debt makes our money less valuable in other countries because we have to borrow money from other countries. The paygo rule is a pay as you go rule, the government shouldn't spend more money then they take in in taxes.

I think paygo is a good rule because the deficit wouldn't go up and we wouldn't be going more and more into debt every year like we are now. I think the government wont balance the budget each year because the budget right now is more than what they take in and it always seems that there are more and more programs that they want to take in or try (healthcare, schools, roadways etc.) I think the government should cut the budget on everything and attempt to balance the budget. The money that they collect each year from our taxes is insane! There should be no way that we can still be in debt this deep after all of that money is collected.

current events 8/10 free

Yesterday eight out of the ten Americans that were arrested for kidnapping and smuggling 33 Haiti orphans to the dominican border were released. The parents of the children told authority that they gave the missonaries permission to take the children, they were only trying to help the children and most of them didn't have parents at all. I think that what they were trying to do was OKAY because a lot of people here in America are looking to adopt anyways, why keep them alone and hungry without a family when they can be here?

CURRENT EVENTS 2/12/10

Suicide Bombing in Kabul
Last night at 9 P.M a man dressed in a Afgan police uniform came in the sleeping area of a U.S army base and bombed the place. Five U.S soliders were critically injured nobody was killed. There wasn't any warning of any kind, the man was at the base before and it was usual to see him around.
I think the bombing was extremely sad, but it's very good to hear that nobody was killed
